Philip Dolph James, Jr. and Agnes (Angie) Elizabeth Carter purpose to enter into the holy estate of matrimony, according to God’s ordinance this Sunday, January 22, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. They desire that prayer be made for them, that they may enter into this union in the Name of the Lord and be prospered in it. The people of Glorious Presence Church are invited to attend the service and the reception that follows.

Adult Sunday School:

This class meets Sundays at 9:45 in Building Two. Chris Leins is teaching a series discussing "God and the Problem of Pain."

BLAST:

Youth Group: 6th—12th grades will meet at 4:00 p.m. today at GPC to begin the progressive dinner. Students will be carpooled to various locations and return at 8:00 p.m. for pick-up.

Men’s Luncheon:

The next luncheon will be Wednesday, January 25th, at 12:00 noon at Pat’s Pizza.

Ladies Bible Study:

Starting February 1st, 2nd, & 4th, we will be studying James: Mercy Triumphs. This is a Beth Moore study with a video based curriculum. There will be a student workbook ($15.00) that includes homework. You may attend and just watch the video and participate in our prayer time without the workbook. You may choose to attend Wednesday mornings (child care provided), Thursday evenings, or Saturday mornings. There is a sign-up in the Narthex. If you have questions, please see Deb Worley or call the church office.

Child Care Needed:

Child care is needed for the Wednesday morning Ladies Bible Study. This is a paid position. Please contact Deb Worley if you have suggestions for this position.

King's Courier:

GPC Winter Banquet:

Glorious Presence Church annual winter banquet-Italian theme. Come "pasta" your time away this special night with church family and friends! Sign up to bring Italian themed dishes to share, pasta, salad or desserts. The deacons will provide beverages, bread and a warm room filled with fellowship and fun games for young and old. Invite a friend! This banquet will take place Saturday, February 11th, at 6:00 p.m. in Building 2 on GPC grounds. You do not want to miss it!! Note: Clip boards will be passed for sign ups next week.

WoW Meeting Update:

The Women of the Word meeting scheduled for January 20th has been changed to January 21st from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Ladies, please plan now to attend our “Stamping-Beading Away the Winter Blues” meeting. Come join the other ladies of the church as we craft, have a warm beverage, and share how we work on letting God’s light shine in the midst of winter blues. Please sign up in the Narthex to ensure we have enough craft supplies.

Community Kitchen:

We have a great opportunity to serve our local community through the Elkton Community Kitchen on Friday, January 27th. There is a sign-up sheet in the Narthex for donations of food and service.

Single Moms:

There will be a meeting on Sunday, January 29th, in Building Two after the 10:30 service. Child care will be provided. Please bring a covered dish to share. See Karen Anderson if you have questions.

Summer Missions Trip:

Sunday, January 29th, there will be a brief meeting after the 10:30 service in Building One for those who would have a potential interest in our 2012 Ecuador short term trip. Approximate cost, dates, location, work, etc., will all be discussed in this meeting. See Pastor Craig Worley if you have questions.

Ladie's Seaside Escape Retreat:

April 20-22, 2012 our ladies group will be on a retreat in Ocean City, MD. Please sign up in the Narthex for this wonderful time of fellowship, teaching and fun! We must secure rooms by the end of January. Payment plans are available. Plan to come with your girlfriends.
