Purpose Statement
We believe that God has called us to be a people who fervently love Him and sincerely care for our neighbors. We commit ourselves to diligently seek Him and purposefully serve Him, both personally and corporately. Our deep affection for Christ and one another is manifested in at least four ways:
GPC Passionately Worships
One of the cardinal attributes of this body of believers is our heartfelt desire to seek and know God. We are a people of sincere worship and praise. We believe that through our worship and praise, God is enthroned, His people are uplifted, and Satan is brought low. We expect and desire the manifestation of God’s Presence among us in worship and welcome the gifts of His Holy Spirit.
GPC Interacts like a Loving Family
God has called us into His family. “There is one body and one Spirit, just as also you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all who is over all and through all and in all” (Ephesians 4:4-6). We are a covenant community. We stand with each other and support one another through times of trial and difficulty as well as triumph and celebration. Small groups and close interpersonal relationships are a hallmark of GPC.
GPC Trains for Ministry
God calls each one of His children to work in the vineyard of His Kingdom. In order to prepare, encourage, and equip believers to do so, GPC is committed to education, discipleship training, and leadership development. Growth in Christian education and maturity are important elements in GPC life. We firmly expect the world to be impacted by our members and recognize our responsibility to provide both theological and practical Christian education.
GPC Extends the Kingdom
Jesus made it clear that His Great Commission is to, “...go therefore and make disciples of all the nations” (Matthew 28:19). Extending the Kingdom by sharing the saving knowledge of Jesus is the delight and duty of every believer. Local and worldwide outreach and ministries have characterized GPC from its beginnings.
