Women’s Ministries
Women of the Word is our fellowship for ladies. We meet every 6 weeks during the school year and have several opportunities for retreats as well as traveling to conferences. A meeting of WOW consists of hearing testimonies, prayer, worship, food and fun. We exist to strengthen relationships in the church and to reach out to other women who may not be connected to God or need a reconnection with God.

New Bible Study: Starting February 1st, 2nd, & 4th, we will be studying James: Mercy Triumphs. This is a Beth Moore study with a video based curriculum. There will be a student workbook ($15.00) that includes homework. You may attend and just watch the video and participate in our prayer time without the workbook. You may choose to attend Wednesday mornings (child care provided), Thursday evenings, or Saturday mornings. There is a sign-up in the Narthex. If you have questions, please see Deb Worley or call the church office.
Beth Moore Study: We are making available the discs for Beth Moore's study, "Esther - It's Tough Being a Woman." You may check out one disc at a time for a two-week period from the library. If you are interested, please call the church office.
WoW Update ~ Deb Worley
We had a wonderful Christmas Tea on December 3rd with over 60 ladies in attendance. One of our favorite things is to see all the unique, creativity of the ladies who set their table and make the room so beautiful. Thanks to the deacons, we even had a live tree decorating our fellowship hall. It was refreshing to hear our speaker and of her desire to help Haiti kids have shoes and how it grew into a several nation ministry. Thank you to all who contributed to making it such a successful event.
WOW will be taking a little break over Christmas time and on Friday, January 20th, we will have a 'beating the winter blues night.' This will happen at GPC at 7:00 p.m. We will enjoy a night of togetherness, creating jewelry, note cards, things that help us perk up from the winter blues! Stay tuned for more details.
The following event is Saturday, March 3rd and it will be a Prayer Summit. We will listen to some of our ladies who will help to heighten our awareness of global and local issues that need addressed via our time, efforts and prayer. More details to come.
I love working with the ladies at our church and watching their hearts grow as their passion for Jesus grows!
After this, the next big event will be April 20-22, 2012 in Ocean City, MD. We will be at the Dunes Manor Hotel for two nights and three days. The theme for this retreat is Seaside Escape. We will travel with each other and our Savior as we look at our surroundings and The God who made them. Our hearts will burn as we hunger and thirst for more of Him and less of us! We will have free time to wander. This hotel is one block from the boardwalk. There will be worship, tea and coffee on the veranda, balconies to enjoy sunsets or sunrises. The cost break down is outlined in a brochure at church in the Narthex. Single, Double, Triple and Quad rooms are available. We need to have a room count in by mid January so please begin considering now so we can reserve rooms. There is a sign up in the Narthex. The first deposit is 25% by January 30th, 25% by February 28th, and the balance due April 1st. There will be no refunds since we are in contract with a hotel.
